Steve suffers through the worst week of comics he's ever read for this pod: X-Man Annual 1997, X-Factor vol 1 #138-141, Maverick vol 2 #4-7, X-Men Unlimited vol 1 #17, and New Mutants: Truth or Death (1997-98). Will reads Future Fight Firsts and King Deadpool vol 1: Hail to the King (both from 2020). Steve reads the start of Maverick vol 2, Gambit vol 2, Colossus One-Shot, and Wolverine Annual 1997 (all from the same year — I'll let you guess which).

Episode 16: The Travel Episode, featuring the Runaways, Dr. Strange, and Alpha Flight

Will and Steve finally get to do a show together in person! Will reads Runaways by Rainbow Rowell vol 5: Canon Fodder and Dr. Strange, Surgeon Supreme vol 1: Under the Knife (both 2020). Steve unpacks the heartache of 1997 with Sabretooth: Back to Nature, Shadows and Light, issues of X-Factor and the grand debut of Alpha Flight vol 2!

Episode 14: Operation Zero Tolerance, and introducing new characters

Will takes on Aero and Swordmaster: Origins and Odysseys, Fantastic Four by Dan Slott vol 5: Point of Origin, and Scream vol 1: Curse of Carnage (all from 2020). Steve labors through the complete Operation Zero Tolerance crossover, talks about genocide and Palestine, and blows Will's mind about Forge.

Episode 13: In which Steve learns Will's deepest, darkest secret

Will reads Amazing Mary Jane vol 1: Down in Flames, Up in Smoke, Black Cat vol 2: On the Run, and Immortal Hulk vol 7: Hulk is Hulk (all from 2020). Notably, he does not read Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. Steve reads Psylocke and Archangel: Crimson Dawn, Strong Guy Reborn, Daydreamers, and issues of Excalibur and Generation X (still stuck in 1997), and drowns in meta-commentary.

Episode 12: One-Shots and Flashbacks, or, the Tragic Nominative Determinism of Esteban Corazón de Ablo

Will reads Miles Morales vol 3: Family Business, Morbius vol 1: Old Wounds, and Avengers/Defenders: Tarot (all from 2020). Steve reads issue -1 of all the X-Men titles (1997), and rants about how the soap opera structure makes superheroes into a genre hostile to social change.

Episode 11: Okay, how's he going to get electrocuted this time?

Wooooo this one was a hoot. Will took on Venom by Donnie Cates vol 4: Venom Island, Yondu: My Two Yondus, Avengers by Jason Aaron vol 6: Starbrand Reborn, and Iron Man: The Ultron Agenda (all from 2020). Steve handled issues of Hulk, X-Force, X-Men, and Deadpool (yup, still stuck in 1997).
